What's particularly striking is the presence of a realistically rendered crow perched on a branch that extends through the composition. This creates a wonderful irony - the scarecrow, meant to frighten birds away, is instead providing a perch for the very creature it's supposed to deter. The crow is drawn with careful attention to detail, its dark form contrasting sharply with the fragmented geometric construction of the scarecrow. The surrounding elements include bare tree branches, geometric shapes that might represent fence posts or farm structures, and various angular fragments that could suggest wind-blown debris or the chaotic environment of an active farm. The composition has a sense of movement, as if everything is being stirred by wind.
