Rich Lo is a Chinese-American author-illustrator whose know for his deeply personal storytelling draws from his own immigrant experience and cultural heritage.

Rich writes what he knows. Two of his 7 books are essentially memoir in picture book form, transforming his childhood memories into accessible stories for young readers. His debut book Father's Chinese Opera recounts his early years attending rehearsals with his father, while New Year directly mirrors his own struggles adjusting to American school with limited English skills.

Rich also wrote animal books titled After the Snowfall and After the Moonrise. After the Snowfall is translated in Korean, Turkish and Danish.
