Marathon Series 1

This energetic ink and oil wash composition captures the relentless momentum and complexity suggested by its title "Marathon." The work is built on a foundation of flowing blue oil washes that create an atmospheric continuous movement inherent in long-distance running. The ink work appears both spontaneous and controlled - some areas show rapid, gestural mark-making that suggests the automatic, repetitive nature of sustained physical activity, while other sections reveal more deliberate linear structures.
